They would follow up with Smokers Delight in 1995, creating a subgenre known as “chill.” As the architect of some of the most memorable songs in electronic trip-hop, Nightmares On Wax tickets stand in a league of their own. Evelyn finished off the 1990s with Carboot Soul, which effectively captured the funk and hip-hop vibe of the decade.

Nightmares On Wax took the turn of the century to revolutionize its sound resulting in their 2002 album, Mind Elevation. The album would find heavy radio play with singles like “Know My Name” as Evelyn integrated lyrics into his rhythms and melodies. Evelyn started his label Wax On in 2005 and reimagined his craft with albums like Shape the Future in 2018.
