In 1994, Sergio Neglia and Heidi Halt founded the first ballet school in Western New York promptly named Neglia Conservatory. They blended their professional dancer training expertise with that of professionals from around the world to introduce kids there a higher level of classical formative years experience for young dancers. The Neglia Ballet Artists were founded in 1999 to provide a professional performing company to the community of Buffalo.
Neglia's International Summer Intensive Program has offered specially-designed lessons for students from around the world since 2004 and in September of 2016, it completed its capital campaign with a relocation to Tri-Main Center downtown Buffalo. The program offers unique opportunities that will improve your child's skillset no matter where you're located, as they are taught by guest instructors across nations! The new modern sixth-floor location has spectacular views of Buffalo and Niagara Falls, sweeping vistas of the city, natural light, sprung floors, a wellness center and a visitor welcome center. Over the past 10 years, Neglia Ballet's enrollment has increased from ten children to over 120 youngsters ranging in age from three to adult.
