Black metal begins with Myrkur tickets. The Danish artist, born Amalie Bruun in Copenhagen, released her self-titled debut EP in 2014. It spawned the single “Nattens Barn” and was listed among the top ten metal albums of the year in Consequence. A year later, the artist dropped her first studio release, M, on Relapse Records. It was recorded in Oslo, Norway, and featured Bruun on vocals, guitar and piano. Her musical prowess is not surprising, considering her father is Danish musician and producer Michael Bruun, and her mother, Mette Amtoft, is a lyricist.
In 2018, her sophomore record, Mareridt, won a Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award and prompted a review in Angry Metal Guy to note her “spectacularly beautiful and engaging voice.” You can see her perform songs like “House Carpenter” and “Leaves of Yggdrasil” on stage with Myrkur tickets from TicketSmarter. Her growing discography includes the live album Mausoleum, in addition to 2020’s Folksange, which made Metal Hammer’s list of the 50 best metal albums of the year. She released the record Spine in 2023 and toured in 2024 with King Diamond, Overkill and Night Demon. The artist remains on the road, appearing at venues such as the Louisville Palace in Louisville, Ky.
