Mudhoney Concert Tickets

Get ready to see the godfathers of grunge when you purchase Mudhoney tickets at TicketSmarter. The seeds for Mudhoney were planted when singer and songwriter Mark Arm and guitarist Steve Turner found themselves in the same band during their high school years. After their high school band had run its course, Arm and Turner continued to work together and formed the band Green River. Green River has the distinction of releasing the first-ever grunge album, thanks to their debut EP Come on Down. While the band would fall apart after only a few years, Arm and Turner had already begun making waves in the music landscape.

Mudhoney tickets were first available after the band formed, signed with Sub Pop Records, and launched its first EP in 1988. Superfuzz Bigmuff made an immediate splash on the music scene thanks to its single “Touch Me I’m Sick,” and Mudhoney became Sub Pop’s flagship band. The very next year, Mudhoney toured the UK with Sonic Youth and released its debut album, Mudhoney.

Mudhoney has continued to tour and perform nearly nonstop since 1989. While original bassist Matt Lukin left the band in 2000, Guy Maddison took over bass duty with the outfit and played on their 2002 release. While Mudhoney has not seen the breakout success that other grunge bands like Nirvana saw during the 1990s, Mudhoney was an undisputed influence on every big-time grunge band. Mudhoney and Nirvana toured together in 1989, and Cobain listed Superfuzz Bigmuff in his journal as one of his favorite releases. To see Mudhoney in concert is to see a cornerstone of modern rock music in action.
