His 1992 debut album 'Moby' established his club credentials and in 1996 he released the snarling protest punk album 'Animal Rights', but it was 'Play' in 1998 which turned him into an unlikely global sensation.
Sampling the 1930s/40s blues and gospel recordings by American folklorist Alan Lomax, he layered and looped them into the euphoric dance-pop hits 'Natural Blues', 'Honey' and 'Porcelain' which, triggered by use in TV advertising campaigns, sold over ten million copies. He then experimented with a range of musical styles on the albums '18' (2002), 'Hotel' (2005), 'Last Night' (2008) and 'Wait for Me' (2009), but failed to repeat the success of 'Play'.
In 2010 he revealed he was working on material for his tenth album which would be called 'Destroyed'. The album received positive reviews from critics but only managed to chart at number 35 in the UK and 69 in America. 'Innocents' came in 2013 with 'These Systems Are Failing' and 'More Fast Songs About the Apocalypse' in 2016 and 2017, the latter being released as a free online download. In 2018 he released 'Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt', an album inspired by trip-hop. Buy Moby tickets today and catch them in concert at your local venue.
