In 2008 Ancheta formed the rap collective Klipm0de with fellow producers Knxwledge and Suzi Analogue, and the group gained an online cult following through a series of Bandcamp releases. Ancheta moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to pursue a solo career, touring local venues and releasing small-scale projects through the Fresh Selects label.
In 2013 Ancheta collaborated with rapper and comedian Danny Brown on Classic Drug References Vol. 1 before releasing his first solo album Yawn Zen through Stones Throw Records. He grew a reputation for his genre-bending sound that incorporates elements from disco music, 80s R&B and psychedelic rock. In more recent years Ancheta worked with Tyler, the Creator on Peach Fuzz as well as with Prophet on Wanna Be Your Man.
