On the label, he released his debut album Today, featuring the fan-favorite “Hollywood. His sophomore album, Pearl River, was released in 2009 and included the title track single which won the Blues Music Award for “Song of the Year”  the following year. The awards ceremony also recognized his third album, Greyhound, with a nomination for “Best Rock Blues Album” in 2011. Zito went on to sign with Ruf Records to release his 2013 album, Gone to Texas, which he has regarded as his most personal body of work. The musician is also well known for work as guitarist and co-founder of the blues-rock supergroup Royal Southern Brotherhood who he performed with from 2010-2014. The group consisted of renowned musicians including Devon Allmann, son of Gregg Allmann of The Allmann Brothers.
