For many years, DelGuidice struggled to make ends meet in the Piano Bar scene. He released two albums and performed all over Long Island with his original music.  DelGuidice decided in early 2000 to start a band to be called Big Shot, which was a tribute to Billy Joel music and drew sold-out crowds from the start, over a decade later they were touring and playing over 100 gigs a year. Soon following DelGuidice would call upon some of Joel's original band members to join. That helped garner the attention of Billy Joel himself.
