And it was through MySpace that percussionist Anthony Improgo found the group and joined as the drummer. The band played gigs around LA but it was the MySpace notoriety that helped them scoop a record deal with Red Ink in 2006, less than a year after they had formed.
Their self-titled debut album Metro Station was released in September 2007, and, although two singles from the album failed to chart, it wasn't until the release of single Shake It that the album sales really started to motor. Shake It gave the band a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped push the album back into the charts, peaking at Number 43 on the Billboard 200.
