Shannon released his debut solo album, A Cab Driver’s Blues, in 1995 after signing a deal with Hannibal Records. Shannon continued to release music inspired by New Orleans and his life as a cab driver. This inspiration can be heard in his numerous studio albums including Spend Some Time With Me (1999), Memphis in the Morning (2001) and I’m From Phunkville (2005).
