After forming, bandmates Derek Sanders, Alex Garcia, Brooks Betts, Jeremy Lenzo and Jake Bundrick started creating music under the name Mayday Parade. In 2006, the band released its first EP titled, Tales Told by Dead Friends. The success of the EP quickly saw Mayday Parade touring with popular punk-rock acts Plain White T’s and Brandtson.
In 2007, the band released its debut studio album, A Lesson in Romantics. After the release, the band started touring on the popular Van Warped tour alongside All Time Low and The Maine. Since the band’s debut album, the group has released over six studio albums including Monsters in the Closet, Black Lines and Sunnyland.
