As a young man, Jordan studied business at the University of Kansas, then moved to Chicago to pursue a music career. He quickly earned a reputation in the city’s jazz scene for his technical prowess and charismatic onstage persona, and for a number of years fronted the celebrated local band Fat Time.

Jordan got his big break when in 2008 he was discovered by Brian Culbertson, with whom he went on to tour for over a decade. Jordan released his debut solo album Catalyst in 2013, which blended jazz, soul and hip hop styles. The artist broke through to mainstream success with this 2019 sophomore effort Intention & Purpose, which contained the hits “The Edge” and “If You Only Knew.” The songs both became top twenty hits on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Singles chart.

Jordan is a frequent collaborator with the Isley Brothers and Isaiah Sharkey and has performed alongside a slew of high-profile artists including Aretha Franklin, Buddy Guy and Sy Smith.
