He has also been known for hosting various TV shows like Extra with his friend TJ Lavin or Don't Forget The Lyrics! on GAC TV in 2010. He also replaced Steve-O from Jackass on the hit TV show Killer Karaoke.
McGrath, Rodney Sheppard, Murphy Karges and Stan Frazier formed Sugar Ray in Orange County California in 1992. They signed with Atlantic Records the following year for their first success which came from "Fly." McGrath's personal popularity skyrocketed as he appeared on such magazine covers including Rolling Stone and Spin. He also made numerous appearances at MTV VH1 talk shows- all of this attention helped propel him to be named by People Magazine's "Sexiest Rocker" of 1998. McGrath is a singer and songwriter who has been in several bands. His most recent project, "Reaching Out," was released as part of Strait Up: A Tribute Album To James Lynn Strait by Fret 10 Records. He was also featured on the track "Angel's Son," alongside those from other artists including Sevendust where they performed it on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
