Hear the soulful sounds of jazz with Mark Hummel tickets. Mark Hummel is a harmonica player, songwriter and singer who has been captivating audiences for years. He was born in New Haven, Conn., but raised on the west coast of California where he became fascinated with blues-rock bands like Cream, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones to name a few. He started playing harmonica in high school to stand out from the crowd of guitar players, where he studied the likes of Sonny Boy Williamson and James Cotton among others. Hummel has gone on to play and even judge the Hohner Harmonica World Championships that are held in Germany each year.
In the 80s, Hummel formed the Blue Survivors, where he started playing all over the United States at any blues festival he could find which included the Chicago and San Francisco Blues Festivals. Hummel released his first album in 1985, entitled Your Town, and followed that up with Up & Jumpin' in which he collaborated with guitarist Sue Foley.
