The band Mae began when Jacob Marshall and Dave Elkins put their musical minds together to create the song, “Embers and Envelopes.” They quickly added William Clark as a bass player and chose the name, Mae (Multisensory Aesthetic Experience), for their newly-formed rock band. Upon completion of their first full-length album, Destination: Beautiful, Tooth and Nail Records signed Mae in 2003 and their touring career began.

Mae’s fan base grew quickly, which inspired the three to produce their second album, entitled The Everglow, in 2005. Drawing alternative rock fans who were looking for a fresh and unique sound among contemporary rock artists, The Everglow was highly promoted and even scored the band a spot on the Vans Warped Tour. When Singularity was released in 2007, Mae had taken its place as a substantial name in the alternative rock world.
