Gerald Albright was born in Los Angeles, California. He studied piano when he was a child but it was when he first picked up a saxophone that he developed a love for music. He minored in music at the University of Redlands. After hearing Louis Johnson in a live performance, Albright also became a bassist. He has released several albums and been nominated multiple times for a Grammy Award.
