Lotus is an instrumental electronic jam band from Indiana made up of members Chuck Morris, Jesse Miller, Luke Miller, Tim Palmieri and Mike Greenfield. The band was founded by Luke Miller at Goshen College in 1998 who had a vision of playing a style of music they call “jamtronica,” a fusion of blues-rock with electronic elements. Lotus was heavily influenced by the electronic band The Orb, to whom they are often compared. 

In 2001 Lotus released their first album Vibes, which was a compilation of live performances from their first tour. The album got the attention of Harmonized Records, which they signed in 2002. Lotus released their follow-up album Nomad through the label, which reached the top of the Home Grown Music Network charts to become the Network’s bestseller. Lotus would earn a nomination for that year’s Jammy Award for New Groove of the Year.
