After leaving the band, Blues Boys, Lira joined forces with three others and won a rock contest. Shortly thereafter, the band changed their name from Rock in the Asphalt Jungle to Lira N’ Roll.
That same year, the band released their debut album, I Want to Change (1991). They finally started gaining traction after touring the U.S. in 1993. After releasing several more albums, the band became involved in diversification programs and made several television appearances. Among others, they appeared on Channel 2 of Televisa with Ricardo Rocha. Since 2018, the Mexican group has released a dozen studio albums. Some of their top hits include “El Pianista,” “Maria,” and “Cuarto para las Dos.” Lira ‘N Roll has been known to frequently tour alongside other Latino artists like Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Marky Ramone, and Los Caligaris.
