Les Nubians released their debut album Princesses Nubiennes through the label in 1998.
The duo is one of the few French-language groups to break through into significant success in the US. They first rose to fame through their hit single “Makeda,” the popularity of which saw Princesses Nubiennes earn a Grammy Award nomination. The album earned them the Best New Artist Award at the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards.
