See this whimsical band with King Pari tickets. When Joe Paris Christensen sent his buddy Cameron Kinghorn some jams on the tape machine, he received an enthusiastic response. Ten minutes before their first practice session together for what would eventually become known as King Pari, they were already working up a loop that became the single "Sunshine." This song grew out of recording sessions in both guys' bedrooms back home - one located in Northeast Minneapolis and another place near New Orleans along with a secluded cabin in rural Wisconsin.
With a fresh psychedelic angle, the influences of Minneapolis Sound and Princes have a feel of a stoner soul. It is lo-fi and ‘80s with heavy doses of funk that will make you want to get up off your feet and groove to the beat. This group then debuted this new form of music in August of 2019, when they opened for Kamasi Washington at the First Avenue Mainroom stage in Minneapolis.

For both Cameron and Joe, this project is also about their love for music - from the goofy songs to the sometimes introspective or even moody feel, all while being danceable yet still sounding somehow dreamlike.
