Hear an alternative rock performance with Kim Gordon tickets. The multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Kim Gordon was born April 28, 1953, in Rochester, New York. Gordon achieved fame for her membership in the band Sonic Youth, playing bass, guitar and singing.

Gordon moved to Los Angeles at the age of five with her family and spent a year in British Hong Kong. In high school, Gordon dated Danny Elfman, frontman of the band Oingo Boingo. She did not pursue music until 1981 when she was exposed to no-wave bands in New York. She joined the ephemeral band CKM with Stanton Miranda and met Lee Renaldo and Thurston Moore through Miranda.

Other projects that Gordon is a part of include the bands Free Kitten, Body/Head, and Glitterdust. She released her solo album No Home Record in 2019. She also has appeared in her movies, both as herself and as an actress, including playing the role of Corky in the 2018 comedy-drama Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot directed by Gus Van Sant.
