Gordon draws inspiration for his music from being raised in the South. In 2000, Gordon released Down to the Well and then O Come Look at the Burning in 2005. A standout track from the album includes a cover of “Something Heavy” from Eddie Hinton, who played lead guitar for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section from 1967 to 1971. In 2009, Gordon’s song “Watching the Sun Go Down” was licensed by HBO for the television series True Blood.
