Katastro was formed in 2007 by Andy Chaves, Andrew Stravers, and Tanner Riccio. Ryan Weddle joined the band later to complete the current lineup. Katastro attained notoriety by creatively combining elements of rock, funk, blues and hip-hop. Many bands have influenced Katastro. For example, Blink-182 was a major influence for the band members in their early teenage years. Other influences include Green Day and Foo Fighters. In terms of rock music, Led Zeppelin has had an impact on many of the songs that are played by Katastro today. Some of their top hits include: "Flow," "Bad News," "Watch it Burn," "Alone," and "The Way I Feel."
