Gomyo moved to New York City several years later to study at New York City’s esteemed Julliard School. The violinist received an invitation from the pedagogue Dorothy DeLay. Altogether, Gomyo has received numerous awards and won auditions, among them the Young Artists International Auditions. Gomyo launched a widely successful international career as a soloist and chamber musician.
The artist has worked with an array of orchestras and performed at venues across the U.S., Japan and China. She also participated in a 2014 documentary film about Antonio Stradivarius entitled The Mysteries of the Supreme Violin. Her roles included violinist, guide and narrator. The film was broadcast worldwide on NHK World. Following its release, Gomyo was invited to perform at the First Symposium for the Victims of Terrorism. The event was held in 2011 at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
