His talent was so prodigious that while he was still in high school, he made an appearance at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. As a young man, the artist briefly attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University before collaborating with high-profile singer-songwriter Mike McClure. Fulbright contributed to McClure’s 2008 album did7 before setting off on a solo career.
In 2009, Fulbright released Live at the Blue Door. He released his debut studio album From the Ground Up in 2012, which earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Americana Album. In the years that followed, the singer-songwriter won the Harold Adamson Lyric Award from ASCAP and the Rising Star Award from the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
