Jimmie’s Chicken Shack is an alternative rock band from Maryland known for their 1999 single “Do Right.” The band came together in Annapolis in 1995 to record their first album 2 for 1, after which they released their live album Giving Something Back with the help of ZZ Top soundman Jamie Rephann. 

In the late ‘90s, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack joined Elton John’s label Rocket Records, through which they released Pushing the Salmanilla Envelope. The album was their first to achieve mainstream success and contained their hit song “High”--a top ten hit on Billboard’s Active Rock chart. Despite several lineup changes in the following years, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack again achieved success with their 1999 single “Do Right,” which debuted at number eight on Billboard’s Alternative chart. 

On the back of such charting successes, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack went on tour with various established acts including Creed, Everclear and Earth to Andy. Though some of the members set off on solo careers in the early 2000s, they came together again in 2021 to record their forthcoming album Reunion.
