Jesus Piece released three EPs over the next two years before signing to Southern Lord records in 2018. They released their debut album Only Self, which earned the group their first serious attention. Critics universally praised Only Self for its dense, brutal sound.
Jesus Piece then toured widely with high-profile names in the genre including Code Orange, Knocked Loose and Ghostmane. The tours saw the band grow a reputation for out of control, raucous live performances. Though the members cite heavy metal and punk rock as influences, critics continue to rave about their genre-bending style.
