He also played Roy Orbison in the movie Walk The Line and in 2005 was introduced by Conor Oberst to Jenny Lewis.
Rice ended up in Lewis' touring band and played on her debut solo album Rabbit Fur Coat when they established both a personal and musical partnership. A native of Las Vegas, Lewis was already a well-established film and TV actress appearing in shows like Roseanne and the movie Uncle Tom's Cabin, and fronting the critically-acclaimed country-flavoured band Rilo Kiley.
The Rabbit Fur Coat album, on which she also collaborated with the Watson Twins, set her on a new solo path which ultimately resulted in the duo with Rice.
