Benitez's production of Madonna's song "Crazy for You" went number one in 1985, and he would go on to remix artists including Paul McCartney, David Bowie and ZZ Top. He produced Whitney Houston's top ten hit "Love Will Save the Day." Jellybean’s single "Sidewalk Talk" (written by Madonna) became a top 20 hit, making Benitez the first DJ to appear on the pop chart as an artist.
