Come and experience some wonderful jazz music when you purchase Jazz Ensemble tickets. The Jazz Ensemble is part of the Brigham Young University School of Music in Provo, Utah. The School of Music got its start back in 1876 and by 1892 the enrollment in the department had reached 275 students with 16 teachers. The Jazz Ensemble often performs their concerts at the Franklin S. Harris Fine Arts Center, which houses five theatres, two large rehearsal rooms and plenty of recording studios. In the Fine Arts Center, there is the de Jong Concert Hall and the Madsen Recital Hall where the performances are often held.

The Jazz Ensemble has an extensive library of jazz music that they play for their concerts. These pieces can include Duke Ellington’s “Take The A Train,” John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme,” Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto’s “The Girl From Ipanema” and Benny Goodman’s “Sing, Sing, Sing.” The ensemble’s instruments often consist of lots of horn and wind instruments such as trumpet, sax, trombone and clarinet. The occasional piano and double bass make appearances.
