They are known for their unique signature sound that combines elements of classic rock, cumbias and ska music. The members are Miguel and Brenda Avina, Luiggy Ramirez and Raul Chavelas.
The Avina siblings founded iZCALLi in Denver in 2005 with a vision of writing original rock songs in both Spanish and English. The band quickly garnered a regional following and began opening for prominent Spanish rock groups like BEBE. In the late 2000s, iZCALLi released the compilation album Rock en las Rocas Vol. 1, which contained their hits “Que Debe Fallar” and “Me Siento Solo.”
iZCALLi followed up the success with the release of their debut solo LP, Pintas en Pasteles. As the band’s profile continued to grow, they began touring with well-known Spanish rock acts such as Molotov, Julieta Venegas and Los Enanitos Verdes. iZCALLi also founded the popular Cinco de Mayo music festival Rock de Mayo and is a regular performer at prominent festivals including the Westword Music Showcase and South by Southwest.
