Larsen’s experience with magic goes back to the 1950s. He produced his first It’s Magic! show in 1956. Since then, he has appeared in dozens of films and even served as a creative consultant for Bedknobs And Broomsticks (1971). Aside from being a prominent actor, Larsen is also a seasoned author.
He has written several books regarding magic, including Hollywood Illusion: The Magic Castle and My Magical Journey – The First 30,000 Days. Milt Larsen is perhaps most recognized for establishing The Magic Castle, which is a clubhouse in Hollywood, Calif., dedicated to magicians for sharing secrets. Larsen and his family were listed as one of the top 100 influential magicians of the 20th century by MAGIC Magazine in 1999. Past shows have showcased all-star magicians like Lance Burton, who is the recipient of several awards. He won the Academy of Magical Arts’ Magician of the Year award twice, as well as a 1997 Blackstone Theatre Award. Burton was also given a 1982 Grand Prix Award at FISM for producing doves, walking canes, and candles within a street scene setting. Other top magicians that have performed at the event include Jason Alexander and Jason Latimer.
