Esther seeks adventure and romance and begins a letter-writing courtship with a mysterious suitor. The suite is from the Panama Canal and he moves to New York to be with her. Esther enters an unhappy marriage with the suitor. Esther’s life challenges lead her to realize that she can only rely on herself and help her find her worth.
