The International Wrestling Syndicate, better known as the IWS, is a professional wrestling promotion based out of Montreal, Quebec. Originating from the Dawson Wrestling Federation in April of 1998 by SeXXXy Eddy who paired with Manny Elefthriou and Nic Paterson a year later to form World Wrestling Syndicate that only lasted a year before it was renamed to the Internet Wrestling Syndicate. This has been Canada's longest-running promotion now spanning throughout Quebec, Ontario and Atlantic Canada with some of hardcore wrestling's staunchest standouts and procuring young talent.

In 2005, the IWS held its first international cage match event, with SeXXXy Eddy winging the championship located in Philadelphia at Viking Hall. In the summer of that same year, they held the first preliminary matches of the IWS Canadian Championship for their Extreme Dream Tournament II. At the end of August, Chris Bishop beat El Generico in the final match to become champion.
