In 2015, they released their mixtape Live from the Dentist’s Office, which received widespread praise from critics for its fusion of rap and abstract jazz elements. They recorded the mixtape in a dentist’s office belonging to Corey’s family.

Injury Reserve’s fan base continued to grow, in large part because of the group’s consistent efforts to push the boundaries of the genre. 2017 saw the trio tour with similar hip hop fusion artists, and by 2019, they signed with Loma Vista and released their self-titled debut album. Injury Reserve continues to be regarded by critics as part of the cutting-edge of rap music, in particular for their defiance of standard subgenre trends and labels.
