Hailing from Riverside, Calif., the band was formed in 2005 by guitarist Manny Contreras and vocalist Brook Reeves. As they solidified their signature brand of Christian death metal, they recorded their first demo, The Sin and Doom of Godless Men, before landing a deal with Facedown Records.
The band released their debut album, Nailed. Dead. Risen., in 2007 and reached No. 46 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. After a number of lineup changes, albums and extensive touring, the bad signed a new deal with eOne to release 2012’s Baptized in Filth featuring the popular singles “For the Wicked” and “Murderer” which garnered positive reviews for their powerful themes. They released the heavy-hitting The Sin and Doom Vol. II in 2018, followed by the 2021 EP Hellbent which proved they plan to remain a mainstay in the genre.
