The group consists of drummer Rich Collins, lead singer and keyboardist Scott Durbin, bassist Dave Poche, and guitarist Scott Smith. All of the group members are longtime friends and neighbors. The group started from the members seeing a need for their children needing music that spoke to them. Scott Durbin’s vision for the band was to have a live-action TV show that was a cross between Mister Rogers Neighborhood and Captain Kangaroo.
The Movers built a sizable regional following by setting educational songs for kids to melodies and rhythms that adults appreciate as well. Soon the group had sold more than 100,000 copies of their self produced CD’s and DVD’s. In 2005 Disney took notice and initiated negotiations to add the group to the company's roster. In 2008 Walt Disney Records introduced the Imagination Movers music to the country by releasing their first studio album “Juice Box Heroes.” Also that year a 22-minute show featuring the group began on the Disney Channel’s preschool programming block titled Playhouse Disney until being replaced by Disney Junior.
