Classical piano is in the air when you purchase Helene Grimaud tickets. Grimaud is a French classical pianist and the founder of the Wolf Conservation Center located in Salem, N.Y.

Grimaud discovered piano at age seven and shortly thereafter, entered the Conservatoire de Paris, an educational institution. She studied under the strict guidance of Jacques Rouvier. She was awarded first place at the Conservatory and the Grand Prix du Disque of the Academie Charles Cros for her recording of the Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Sonata No. 2.”

Grimaud’s unique style involves seeing music as color, something that she attributes to helping memorize long and detailed music scores. In addition to studying under Rouvier, Grimaud has also studied with Gyorgy Sandor and Leon Fleisher. In 1987, the disciplined artist gave her first, critically acclaimed recital in Tokyo, Japan. Later that same year, Grimaud was invited to perform with the Orchestre de Paris where well-known conductor Daniel Barenboim helped launch her musical career.

Grimaud has been featured in the New York Times and performed at prestigious festivals and cultural events across the U.S. and internationally.
