Hail the Sun was created in Chico in 2009 when members Donovan Melero, John Stirrat, Aric Garcia and Shane Gann met in college. The group quickly found creative synergy and began recording right away. In just a few months they had finished their debut album POW! Right in the Kisser.
Hail the Sun pushed the boundaries of their original punk rock influences, infusing their sound with progressive and technically challenging elements not normally known to the genre.
Hail the Sun began touring following their album’s positive reception, befriending the group Dance Gavin Dance. The relationship led to Hail the Sun signing with one member’s record label, Blue Swan Records. They released their second album Wake through the label, which was met with widespread praise from critics.
It was their 2016 album Culture Scars, however, which brought the band mainstream success. Hail the Sun tickets put you in the mosh pit to rock out with these musical innovators.
Culture Scars’ appearance on the Billboard charts saw the group tour in a more serious way, with their most notable performance being at that year’s Vans Warped Tour.
