The group was initially called Griz Adams but after the viral release of their demo “The Struggle,” the name change took effect to better reflect what supported them.
After their viral single, the group was named as an “Artist You Should Know” by Santa Monica-based station KCRW in 2013 and in early 2014 their single “Way Back When” was featured in the film Mr. Peabody & Sherman. In February of the same year, they released their debut EP, From the Spark, on Virgin Records. Their debut full-length, Waking Up the Giants, dropped in 2016 featuring some of the band's biggest hits “Bob Marley” and “Troublemaker”. The band was featured as guests on late-night shows such as The Late Show with David Letterman and Conan O’Brien.
