In 2004, he moved to Brooklyn with his brother and performed at small establishments throughout the city. Under Motema Music and Membran Entertainment group, he released Water in 2010 and Be Good in 2012. This led him to sign to Blue Note Records under Universal Music Group in 2013. He released Liquid Spirit that same year, which resulted in a Grammy Award and certified gold in the UK.
