The group was originally created with more of a pop sound, but it shifted gears after its first album, despite reaching No. 1 in 41 countries. 

The new sound included covers of popular songs like Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” and Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight,” reimagined with a chant-inspired style. Those proved successful on Gregorian’s 1999 album Masters of Chant and the group went on to record 10 albums in series and sell more than 10 million records worldwide with occasional other projects like 2004’s The Dark Side mixed into the fold. Gregorian has also released compilation and holiday albums.
