Elwood was born in Stoughton, Wis., but moved to Evanston, Ill., and became a star high school athlete and school radio announcer. As a film major at the University of Arizona, he joined a comedy troupe named Comedy Corner. Elwood performed his first stand-up routine in the US College Comedy Competition that featured Judd Apatow as master of ceremonies. He honed his act, performing each week at nearby Laff's Comedy Café.
After moving to Los Angeles, Graham continued his stand-up act and hosting television game shows Cram on GSN and Strip Poker on the USA Network. He has made TV appearances, including The Late Late Show on CBS, Comedy Central's The Sarah Silverman Program and The Benson Interruption. Elwood's theatrical credits include Speed the Plow, Light Sensitive and Cash Flow. He directed and starred in a comedy concert, Graham Elwood: Live from Afghanistan, and his debut feature-length film, Laffghanistan: Comedy Down Range, about Graham's first time entertaining our troops in a war zone.
