Two of their albums reached number 1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart shortly after their release. The group is known for its humble origins with Robert Searight’s God’s Property, a gospel choir founded shortly before Ghost-Note formed. Following this, Robert Searight wanted to create another band that would focus on more widespread influence, which resulted in bringing members of a local band “Snarky Puppy” to fill out this new group. Together, the two groups formed Ghost-Note, releasing their successful album “Fortified” which shot to the top of the iTunes Jazz Chart shortly after release.

In addition to their unique mixture of jazz, hip hop and funk, they incorporate EDM beats to further set themselves apart from other Jazz bands, forming what they call “conscious funk.” The group’s unique genre-crossing sounds have gotten them to play at the Edmonton International Jazz Festival, the London Jazz Festival and Montreal Jazz Fest.
