She was the co-founder of the record label SomeOthaShip Connect in 2008, as well as the voice behind the musical creation Pattie Blingh.
Muldrow was the child of two session musicians and her childhood was filled with music. Her dad was asoul-jazz and hard bop guitarist, Ronald Muldrow. Her mother, Rickie Byers-Beckwith, is a vocalist. Her first EP, Worthnothings, which she had written, produced and recorded as well as playing all the accompaniment, was released in 2006. She also released her first album, Oeisi: Fragments of an Earth, later that year.

Also in 2007, she collaborated with her then-husband Dudley Perkins on the album The Message Uni Versa. He would work with her on several albums. Muldrow and Perkins created the SomeOthaShip Connect record label in 2008. She also has worked with a number of other musicians, such as guest appearing in 2005 with the Platinum Pied Pipers on several tracks, including “Lights Out” in 2005 and Mos Def on his song “Roses.”
