Gateways Music Festival Orchestra was established by Armenta Hummings Dumisani, an accomplished African American pianist and professor at the Eastman School of Music. This originally small group expanded quickly to encompass more than 100 musicians who represent professional members of symphony orchestras, music school professors and accomplished free-lance artists.
