The band released their first album Rench Presents: Gangstagrass, in 2007. Gangstagrass remained under the radar until their song, "Long Hard Times to Come," was selected to be the opening theme for the top-rated TV show Justified on FX in 2010. The song was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme several months later. Gangstagrass would release another album called Lightning On The Strings, Thunder On The Mic with T.O.N.E-z in 2010, and then two years later released another album called Rappalachia with a variety of different rappers.
In 2021, the band appeared on the 16th season of America's Got Talent and became a quarter-finalist but did not proceed further.
