A night of funky flair awaits with Funk You tickets. Funk You is an artist collective of nine friends from Augusta, Georgia. Gavin Hamilton is on the lead vocals with Evan Miller on the guitar. William Foster plays the keys, while Will Clark and Mark Dyes play the drums and bass respectively. Gnarly G is on the sax and flute, Josh Spilliards is on the trombone, and Geoff Wood rounds them out on the trumpet and backup guitar. Most also contribute to the vocals. This dizzying number of voices is not always difficult, the group openly admits. But the group has been creating Motown, soul, classic rock, and funk tracks for the past decade. Funk You Began in 2002 after lead guitarist Evan Miller and percussionist Gavin Hamilton met and immediately “clicked” at local Augusta jam sessions. 

Since then, the group has steadily gained underground notoriety, performing at major music festivals in Virginia, Baltimore, Vermont, Maryland, and others. Their debut album Apparitions was released in 2016, earning them attention from small publications like BandCamp Daily and Loudwire, as well as attention from national outlets like NPR and Rolling Stone. What’s on Your Mind? dropped in 2018 followed by Funk You (Live at Tipitina’s in New Orleans) in 2020. Their latest album Moving Forward is set to drop on April 10th, 2021. The recently released title track highlights the band’s mastery of instruments and “slowly builds toward a horn-driven and danceable groove.” In the meantime, Funk You will be hitting the road, performing at Summer Camp Music Festival, Resonance Music Festival, Brooklyn Bowl, and concert space in your area.
