The band has achieved many top 10 hits on the Billboards rock charts, appeared heavily on MTV, and performed several live network performances throughout Australia, Canada, and the United States. Fuel's first full-length studio album, Sunburn, debuted in 1998. The critically acclaimed alum propelled the band into success with hit tracks like "Shimmer," "Sunburn," "Bittersweet" and "Jesus or a Gun." Sunburn was Fuel's first album to achieve Platinum and Gold certifications.

Demand for Fuel tickets exploded after the release of Something Like Human in 2000. The album was certified as a Double Platinum and peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200. Something Like Human featured the track "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)," which became the No. 1 song on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart for 12 weeks. Additionally, the hit single was named the No. 5 Rock Song of the Decade by the Billboard

Later in 2013, "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" was declared the No. 6 best alternative rock song in the past 25 years by the Billboard's Alternative Chart 25^th Anniversary: Top 100 Songs."

In 2003, Fuel released its third album, Natural Selection, which peaked at No. 15 on US Billboard charts. The track "Falls on Me" peaked at No. 9 on Mainstream Rock Tracks, No. 11 on Modern Rock Tracks and No. 52 on US Billboard charts. In addition, Natural Selection was nominated for a Grammy Award the following year for Best Engineered Album.

Fuel debuted its fourth album, Angels & Devils, in 2007. The album peaked at No. 42 on the Billboards charts and included hit tracks like "Hone" and "Wasted Time." In 2014, the band released Puppet Strings, which debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Rock charts.

In 2015, Fuel teamed up with Everclear for the Summerland Tour. In 2017, the band toured throughout the US, Australia and New Zealand. In 2018, the band continued to tour to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of its first album, Sunburn.
