They are now considered to be South Korea's first so-called 'idol' band following the trend set in Japan for creating bands with squeaky-clean public personas who appeal to fanatical teen audiences. FT Island paved the way for a new style of music and inspired other idol bands, such as label-mates N.Flying, to follow their lead.
